7/14 Datong Weekend Trip

Some Datong Travel Information

We took an overnight hard sleeper train to Datong. Travel time was approximately 6-7 hours. In Datong we stayed in a five-star hotel equipped with fancy restuarants, gymnasium, saunas, and massages.

Day 1: We first visited a nearby village that farms and sells souvenirs to tourists. Afterwards we went to a Daoist temple built into a cliffside. And another temple built in the mountains. We walked.

Day 2: We visited some Buddhist temples. One in particular had all its Buddha and Bodhisattva statues carved out of rock walls within caves. After visiting the temples and caves, we did what we love most: SHOPPING
